When my kids were little I’d pick up little totes, backpacks etc at yard sales and have a whole collection of these. All included a few crayons and mini notepads. Great place to put the fast food toys and Bday goodie bag do dads and other annoying little toys found around the house. It was always a fun surprise for them.

Mindy – I like the idea of adding in snacks. Those are usually a necessity with us.

Very cute idea. I am putting together a “quiet box” for my kids to have handy doing the summer when Mommy needs some silence. Will be posting it over at my blog in the next day or so if ya want to check it out.

I do this for long trips. I use zip up lunch boxes and add “snacks” (cereal in ziplocks) and a sippy cup drink along with the toys. My 3 year old triplets love it!

That is very clever idea. I also buy something new for that occasions – some books, coloring books, and crayons because they are much easier to find in our little town.
