The kids and I made these as teacher gifts and packaged them with the cocoa and some giant holiday marshmallows. Thanks for the great idea - the teachers loved them.

I thought of this on my on and,of course, they are all over the internet! They are not quite as easy as they sound, as the lady says. You do have to practice. It is fun eating the mistakes and I have totally learned how to unwrap candy canes properly for the first time in my life. You can also put sprinkles on them and you can also use some white chocolate or other flavor canes. You can also use fat, soft peppermint sticks and coat them with fancy Belgian dark chocolate. Be creative. This can get complex. My biggest problem is wrapping to send to away family members. A little plastic sack such as you show on here would be nice. I might have to pay a visit to Hobby Lobby or something to find this. Thank you.

We made these last year. Something to dress them up even more- use white chocolate (looks *so* good on the white and red peppermint) and put red sprinkles on the chocolate while its still soft.

We tried this tonight and it was a little harder than I thought. Some of the candy canes have a lot of chocolate! Then of course we broke a lot too. Hmmm. More practice is necessary. I do like how they taste even if they aren't as pretty as yours. Thanks for another great idea.
