I apologize for my husband, Charles. He has misappropriated “chiffonade’s” screen name and is slandering her all over the internet. He’s not well.

Joanne - I love those ideas. You can go crazy. Mint would be delish!

Hayley - You are super nice. I promise that I am not that great with my kids. There are lots of "TV days" going on at my house. This blog has helped me be more creative with them, it forces me to get off my duff and be crafty. I really try to get them to play with the millions of toys they have. Then usually once a day, I try to come up with some sort of "project" for us to do, whether it is cooking a treat or doing a craft. I hope you will use these ideas, that is why I do it.

Megan - this is a great way to use your old christmas candy. Just crush it up and dip.

chiffOnade - I don't like nuts either. So I made sure to dip plenty of them without any!

Lindsay - Good idea with the soy. I love soy ice cream.

DeeDee - You're welcome.

Jessie - I love Giada too. She can be a little cheesy with her description for food, but I love the camera work for Everyday Italian. It makes the food look good enough to eat right through the TV.

Steph - Sorry, it is not Trader Joes. If I went to Cali as often as you guys, maybe I would have some stocked up. I need to put in an order next time you go.

I hope you're using Trader Joe's milk chocolate! If not, don't even bother. That looks delish. I'm going to use that for a YW treat and let the girls garnish it themselves. Nice!

I was just about to make this -- I absolutely love Giada. She always has such simple, fresh, beautiful dishes that don't sacrifice the authenticity of italian cuisine.
...and chocolate w/ hazelnut has to be the best food combination in history!
- Jessie -
ps. lovely blog!

Well, as everyone on the internet knows, I am a Italian immigrant and a PROFESSIONAL CHEF who was educated at Peter Kump's Culinary School in my hometown of Brooklyn, NY. First, I do NOT think Giada De Laurentiis knows SQUAT about real Italian cooking (although she is a wee bit smarter than Shamdra Lee). Just because they BOTH have big boobs, that does NOT make them good cooks.

I have to tell you, I like ice cream and so does my new 437-pound boyfriend "BIG BEAR". Of course, he lost all of his teeth by using METH, so he has to eat a LOT of ice cream. He also likes pretzels soaked in beer so they are soft and he can eat them.

If I put nuts on Big Bear's ice cream, he would probably throw me against the wall of our rented trailer house here in Clearwater. You see, I have to be careful.

Anyway, I think your post was really neat, and if the Bear ever goes on a fishing trip or something, I am going to make some of those ice cream pops for my girlfriends here in the trailer park.

we both must have summer on the mind. I would rather have ice cream than hot chocolate lately. I love this idea. I am going to try it. My kiddos will love it. I now know what I am going to do with all the christmas candy we need to use.

i just LOVE your site! i look at it every day to find fun things to do with my 2 little boys. i don't know how you have time to come up with all these fun ideas. i'm always at a loss for fund creative things to do with the kids, so they usually end up playing with their toys (that they are so bored with) or watching tv. i feel like such a bad mom sometimes for letting them just veg-out in front of the tv. but, now that i've discovered your site, they have lots of fun things to do with me. so, how do you have time for all of it?! please let me in on any tips or secrets you have up your sleave. you seem to have it all together. i'm thinking of making up a dailly schedule with time scheduled for the kids like crafts, games, reading. what do you think? thanks for your help, hayley
