Then I had this great idea- 1/2 price tags at my local thriftstore + any cotton clothing in a cool pattern = sure cheap material! So, I have been looking there, too. I have also been looking for non pocket plain t shirts at the thriftstore (half price tags = 50c a shirt!). I have trimmed the webbing and material to 6x12 and ironed a few together. I have picked out a few designs I wanna try- big block letters, number, cat silhouette. I even contacted a seamstress (on craigslist) who will sew around the ironed on designs (although 5$ each seems steep). I am hoping my mom will sew themif I mail the shirts to her. But I am just so nervous to cut the dang things! I told myself to keep gathering supplies and taking babysteps. I envisioned cool iron ons for every holiday etc. *sigh* Has anyone actually done this?? Am I just being a big baby?? I have to take pics and get them loaded later this week. And I made a banner for a baby shower I'm having this weekend with the baby's name that coordinates with the baby's room so the mother can take it with her after the shower. I've also used it to make bulletin boards with at church, crafts with my kids and I just bought stuff to do some glass etching.
