Don't ya just love it! I mainly use mine to make the vinyl wall art right now.
Shhh....just don't tell my hubby that's the only thing I make, he would probably pass out seeing all the money I have put in that thing!

I love my cricut though I tend to go in spurts using it a lot and then not using it for quite awhile. i don't know how I used it before I had the design studio software-- it makes the cutting so much more efficient and just the way I want it.

I bought a roll of heavy duty iron on adhesive at walmart and I am keeping my eye on the scrap bin at walmart. Then I had this great idea- 1/2 price tags at my local thriftstore + any cotton clothing in a cool pattern = sure cheap material! So, I have been looking there, too.

I have also been looking for non pocket plain t shirts at the thriftstore (half price tags = 50c a shirt!). I have trimmed the webbing and material to 6x12 and ironed a few together. I have picked out a few designs I wanna try- big block letters, number, cat silhouette.

I even contacted a seamstress (on craigslist) who will sew around the ironed on designs (although 5$ each seems steep). I am hoping my mom will sew themif I mail the shirts to her.

But I am just so nervous to cut the dang things! I told myself to keep gathering supplies and taking babysteps.

I envisioned cool iron ons for every holiday etc. *sigh*
Has anyone actually done this?? Am I just being a big baby??

I Love, Love, Love my Cricut! I use it all the time for things. I do use it a lot for scrapbooking, but here's a post I did a while back about some of the things I had used it for: http://sweetlysouthern.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-love-my-cricut.html I also just made a banner like the one you see in this post that says "Summer" and matching ones that are on my boys bedroom doors with their names. I have to take pics and get them loaded later this week. And I made a banner for a baby shower I'm having this weekend with the baby's name that coordinates with the baby's room so the mother can take it with her after the shower.

I've also used it to make bulletin boards with at church, crafts with my kids and I just bought stuff to do some glass etching. My friend uses hers for a home business: http://clipboardsbyhaley.blogspot.com/ It's high on my list of needs for any crafter!

Oh this is just the start of a whole new obsession now! LOL The possibilities are endless. You (and your kids) are going to have a blast with it. Enjoy!
Just be careful if you decide to get SCAL. It can cause problems and provocraft wont honour the warranty if you have it.

Love the flags. I don't have that cart as I wont get much use for it here in Aus. Does the flag not have a blackout feature to save you cutting the background with a trimmer?
Have fun with your new toy. I can't wait to see what else you make.

Cutting vinyl on these is so, so fun! I have the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) software and I found this website that sells awesome lettering layouts that can be cut on my Cricut machine, so I've been able to cut some really pretty vinyl lettering for my home and as gifts. The website is www.vinylreadydesigns.com

I want one of those, because I recently learned you can do your own vinyl with one of them. =) So, I am totally going over to her place to do some vinyl flowers to put up on my glass shower door. That is goin' be my project for the summer. LOL
