We did the nature box, and it was a huge hit–both on the painting day and on the gathering day! We got a little more nature than we intended, as we later found a stowaway (live) earwig in our box. It was a great idea. Thanks.

We’re going to have to try those “Nature Bracelets”. I know my kids will love to stick on treasures.

We love to make nature bracelets. I put a piece of masking tape, upside down on my kids wrist so they can stick whatever treasures they find throughout out walk or hike.

How fun that you live in Utah. We live in Utah too and will be at Nature day as well. My son is just 15 months old, but we’re excited to go out and explore. :)

We found a maple tree on our walk and flew the seeds into the air making little Helicopters. My son thought it was the coolest thing. I love that nature has FREE toys. Maybe I should get my kids stick, rocks, and mud pies for Christmas.

I love the outdoors! We camp and fish and all those good things. We just did a fun project. We did painting with nature. We went and gathered sticks, leaves, dandelions and a bunch of other fun stuff and used it to paint with. We had fun talking about the textures and the kids loved it. I have a post over on my blog Some of This and Some of That. It was a lot of fun!

Thanks for posting that Marie! When we see a rainbow no matter what we are doing or where we were going we pull over or run outside and look at it for awhile. When it is raining not to hard and it is ok weather temp wise we ALWAYS go outside and run around in the rain and jump in the puddles :) We like to go fishing, my 2 year old caught her first fish with her Barbie pole! We catch butterflies, go on nature walks, nature hunts….Lots of stuff. Nature time is actually a “chore” on their chore chart that we have to do every single day!
