We made them just for decoration without the bubble wrap (had none), and we were out of pipe cleaners so we used black flexi-straws instead. Thanks for a wonderful idea! I haven't crafted with my kids in faaaaaar too long, but now that I've found your blog I'm planning to do tons of your crafts with them throughout the summer! Thanks. And I love the 4th of July ideas. Since we live abroad we just have a small celebration at home with our little family, so I love to try and make it as festive as possible. This will be our first 4th of July with "fireworks" now that we've made these firecrackers. :) I just made these with my kids and they look great.
