I must say that my favorite is the Libman Wonder Mop.

here is a pic:

I usually fill up a bucket (or if I'm really in a hurry, the kitchen sink) with hot water and some sort of floor cleaner and then mop away.

What I like about it is the white cone shaped piece slides down the handle and lets you wring out the mop head withour having to keep getting your hands wet. Also, you can remove the top and throw it in the washing machine (I rarely do this so I don't know how many washings before you need to replace it).

I use the one that you can just throw the cloth part in the wash and I have to admit I bought it off QVC and love it. It is the Don Aslett mop and it has 3 microfiber mops that come with it. Its around $30 bucks and well worth it no more stupid swiffer wipes. I use to use vinegar and water on my wood floors. - Now I'm spoiled with a floor steamer up here.

I have to say that I want a snoba which is the sister to the romba. The snuba will go around your floor and mop it. Put it down leave come back floors clean. I really don't know how well they clean but I watched the infoercial one late night and I am sold

I use the swiffer too, but you're right, you go through a ton of pads for one cleaning. I have wood floors and tile so I'm thinking of getting one of those mops you can use and then just throw in the washer with your other cleaning towels. I think that's the most economical when you have to mop so much.

I bought the Flip-It floor cleaner from Bissell. It works great, it has a brush that scrubs the floor, and it also works as a vacuum. I have never had cleaner floors.

Marie,

I worked for housecleaning company for years (through high school and college) so I've mopped a lot of floors in my life! I have to say that the best mop you can use is just a regular cotton string mop. They are cheap and they do the best job for both deep cleaning and a quick mop. The only thing I use to clean my floors is ammonia (non-sudsing) and water. That's it. Again, cheap, dries fast, works the best. The only problem with using a string mop is wringing it out. I don't use the gigantic ones and it doesn't bother me to wring it out by hand. But it is important that you have a place to hang it so that it dries properly.
