We would wake up, rush to find our baskets only to find hand-dipped chocolate covered easter eggs - some full of caramel, some with fudge, some with cherry nut filling. Everything about our Easter was from friends with candy making talent or specialty chocolate stores. The disappointment came when I would compare my basket with my friend across the street. His basket was full of traditional candy bars like Snickers and Milky Way. And the kicker was this - he always got a six pack of those little wax bottles filled with colored sugar water. I really felt like I was getting stiffed for Easter... until I was about 15 and finally figured out the gift that I was getting. When I was a kid, I was so disappointed with with Easter.
