Organizing Craft Supplies with Plastic Zip Bags

by Marie on May 10, 2010

When I buy crafting supplies they usually come in packages that don’t close back up or are too small for my fingers to use. I often end up with a tub or drawer of beads, pom poms, and googly eyes everywhere or many of these supplies find themselves in places that they shouldn’t.

So I once my smaller crafting supplies make it home and are opened for crafting, I store them in plastic zip bags, helping to keep them all together. These are great for storing lots of things, one of those great inventions. As they come in 3-4 different sizes, they’re the perfect size for my small supplies.

I also love the large baggies with the white zippers to close them up, perfect for my kids to open and close themselves. Now my crafting supplies aren’t rolling around lost in a drawer. They’re nicely organized and ready for use.

Yep, Zip Locks are wonderful. Our kids have several toys with many smaller parts. Each has a gallon ziplock to call home. We still lose parts now and then, but our toy box no longer eats toys nearly as often. They also save time when our kids are looking for certain toys, such as the lace boards you have in your photo, or their puzzles!

great for storing yarn too – keeps the dust off and separates different colours so fibers don’t “migrate” :)

Don’t you just love baggies? I sometimes think I keep my whole life together and organized with the use of paperclips, baggies and craft glue! I even keep stuff separated in my make-up bag and my purse with the aid of these handy zipping baggies.

Craft supplies can easily get out of control! I also use the plastic storage containers that some of our deli meats come in– having a lid that snaps on and being able to stack the containers has kept some of our chaos under control.

ADORE them- my 3 yr old loves the independence of being able to pull items out of the bags herself when we’re crafting. ALSO could for older people with arthritis- easier than opening jars!!

I use them like crazy! Although the ones made for jewelry found in the craft section are my favorite, especially the tiny ones.
