Ice Cream in a Baggie

With summer here and the kiddies needing a cool treat, we made ice cream in a baggie. It is fun for all and a yummy snack. But wear gloves or your fingers will freeze.

Ice Cream in a Baggie:
1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup half and half

1 Tbsp sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1 gallon size Zip Bag, 2 sandwish size bags

I’m a Giveaway Winner!

Each Friday I comment on the Giveaways for the weekend. Then on Tuesday, I check to see if I won. Well, this time I actually won!!! Yeah!!! I went to check out the winners today to see if maybe my name would be there, and there it was, over at Tangled and True. I love their blog. They give great reviews [...] Continue Reading…

Summer Fruit Salad

Actually, it can be made all year, not just for summer. It’s easy, fresh, and delicious. Oh, and healthy too, but who is caring about that! I make it for every get together and it’s a great side dish for anything.

It is best when the fruit is in season and I tend to like it better with fresh strawberries. [...] Continue Reading…

Dressed Up Kiddies

Here is proof that my children are not always in their pajamas!! I know that almost every single picture of them in this blog has them sporting their PJ’s. You can see that Lucy’s hair is combed all pretty here, not like Medusa from previous posts. I promise, I am just up early doing these projects and taking their [...] Continue Reading…

Children’s Big Books

I mean really Big books. I love these. They are large and in charge. I used in the classroom all the time (I taught Kindergarten for 4 years.) They help everyone see the page, they have large letters to work with, helping kids see the letters and learn the words easier. I did so many activities with them. Some [...] Continue Reading…

Hooded Beach Towels

It is that time of year when beach towels are everywhere in my house. We are either at the local pool or in the sprinklers. While regular towels are just fine and serve their purpose, I love Hooded Towels.

Before, I have made these great hooded towels for my kids and their bath time. They are shivering when they get [...] Continue Reading…

Cake Mix Cookies

Cake Mix Cookies are the best cookies to make for any occasion, especially when you are short on time. They are delicious, easy to make, and always a BIG hit! I probably make these too much. Jordan is always begging for good ol’ fashioned chocolate chip cookies. I use the Toll House recipe for those.

Cake Mix Cookies:

1 box cake mix - any [...] Continue Reading…

Hood To Coast Relay Race

My family is running the Hood to Coast relay race this year. It is a grueling and exciting relay race in Oregon, where 12 people run 3 legs of close 6 miles each, more or less. We go from Mt. Hood all the way to the coast and run on the beach to the finish line. It is a [...] Continue Reading…

I love to grill. I have just discovered how easy it really is. Buy meat, dip meat sometimes, slab it on the grill, flip, and eat. So now that I know I can do this and it tastes good when I do, why would I cook any other way? I have been trying to get more grilling recipes from [...] Continue Reading…
