Ped Egg

by Marie on July 10, 2008

I’m loving my Ped Egg. I got it for Mother’s Day and my feet have been thanking me ever since. I do have to say my feet don’t get perfectly smooth, but they are soooo much better than before.

If you’ve seen the commercial for this, it’s pretty gross. Like the picture above, you see all the shavings getting dumped into the garbage. But it’s pretty accurate to what it’s like when I’m done, especially this flip flop wearing season. So Thanks Ped Egg, for curing my impossibly dry heels!

I always wondered if this thing actually worked. I just might have to pick one up.

eeeeewwww! But you know I’m going to run right out and buy one for myself! Thanks for “testing it out” just for me HA!

That is so funny that you featured this product today. We are living in South Korea, compliments of the US Army. I just saw a commercial for this today, but it was all Korean. I thought it looked awesome, and I couldn’t understand a word.

Eeek. It looks like maybe I could just use the zester section of my grater? Yikes. I totally need one. I totally don’t have access to one. I totally am going to try out my cheese grater. No, maybe not, but this egg is a great idea. (sorry to take something already gross and make it sound even grosser)

Yes, Ped Egg’s are amazing! I definately agree that every flip-flop wearing girl needs one!

Eeee. How do you get past the gross commericial factor and the gag reflex?

Is it better than a pumice stone?

8 Rebecca July 10, 2008 at 10:56 am

The commercial is, most definitely, gross AND cheesy. Glad to know it works! I’ve been wanting to try it!

I just got one for my birthday on Monday! I love it! I saw the commercial and, although kinda gross, the thought of beautiful feet during flip-flop season totally outweighed the grossness. My MIL asked me what I wanted and I told her a PedEgg. She looked at me like I was crazy…but she got it anyway! Yipppeeee!

I didnt know there was something like this! I really need one summer flip flops have ruined my heels.

I’m pretty sure the “skin” flakes in the egg they show are potato flakes. I’ve looked at the box and the commercial and kept thinking, man.. those look like fake potato flakes my mom used to put in her potato soup to thicken it up.

Oh I need one of these, I am ashamed to admit it.

Lacie – I don’t have a moisturizing routine either. I should just fork-out the money and get weekly pedicures!

Maria – It works. Try it out.

AmyDe – You’re too funny. And I hope you did go get one.

KJ – Glad I could help out!

Lisa – That does sound grosser! If you try the grater, let me know if it worked!!

Danielle – If you’re prone to gagging, maybe skip the Ped Egg and go straight for a professional. I don’t know how they can stand to touch feet all day, but glad someone can. I love me a good pedicure!
And I’m not sure about the Pumice Stone. I’ve never used one. I have thought they would take too much time. Anyone else?

Rebecca – It is super cheesy too.

Angela – Glad to know I’m not the only one daring enough to try this invention.

Ashley – The “skin” flakes are quite large in the photo, so I’m not surprised if potato flakes or soap flakes were used!

Angel Funk – Don’t be ashamed. I admitted it too, so you’re not the only one!

Might sound crazy but I like seeing the flakes inside of my ped egg when I’m done. Kinda like when you see the dirt in the sink after you’ve washed your hands when their really dirty. This is one of the best inventions. After years of pedicures I’ve found something to replace the cost. Best place to pick one up is Bed Bath and Beyond using your 20% off coupon. But you can also find them at Walgreens and such. Remember to read the instructions b/c I had a sister who went side to side instead of front to back and cut her foot up pretty bad. — This is way better than a pumice stone.

I just got this yesterday from my 11 year old daughter for my birthday. I can’t wait to try it out. I am so glad you love it!

16 Amy July 10, 2008 at 9:19 pm

I JUST impulse bought this today at W@lmart! :) Glad to know it wasn’t a waste.

I have the bigger version of this (Has a handle). My parents bought it for me after if worked for Dad. (long story) It is a zester/wood plane (Got my zester at a woodworking store). Just one caution. Be careful how long/much you zest your feet. I did too much and had trouble walking for several days since my feet were so tender (got entranced with the result and didn’t think or notice when I was doing it…though I probably wouldn’t have thought in the first place…)

The skin flakes being dumped was kind of freaky but looks like a flip flop lovers dream…….I am headed over to check it out.:)

I must have the toughest feet around – I loved my Ped egg the first few times I used it and then it went dull and I have to scrape and scrape – anyone else have that problem??

20 Jess July 15, 2008 at 5:15 pm

Ok, it takes alot to gross me out, but, seeing the recipie below then scrolling up to the skin flakes! Hahaha! SOOOOO GROSS!!!! Maybe it’s just my preggie sickness talking! Have to say i could do with one of those eggs, don’t think they have reached New Zealand yet!

More funny and grossed out comments! HA. Good tips from Kathy and Cindy!

I won one of these at Bunco last week. I have yet to use it. I can’t over the thought of taking a cheese grater to my feet. Eek!

My blade got dull quite quickly too, and then it really roughed up my heels. But, I love the results so much that I bought refill blades and it is back to being wonderful. I had two very deep and painful cracks in my heel that had been there several years that I could not get rid of. It took me 2 or 3 sessions with my Ped Egg and they are GONE!

24 Laura February 3, 2009 at 5:29 am

I love my ped egg but when I bought the refill package they all seemed dull right from the first use. I went to Walmart and bought a brand new ped egg and I am back to smooth feet. Now I will just buy a new ped egg every few months and my feet will love me forever.

I was given one of pedd egg platinum as a gift, and absolutley love it! my feet were soooo smooth, and in no time, and without the mess. After moving, it got misplaced, and so i went onto ebay to buy another…since you can find them on their fairly cheap. I got 2 for 7.25 shipping included. Well 2 auctions later, and still no pedd eggs, i was about to give up. (Thankgod for paypal) I thought one more time….well they finally came, until i noticed they were complete fakes. First thing i noticed was how cheap the blade looked, and there were no sharp edges…flat. I received the professional, when it should’ve been the platinum, and on top of it all, the blades weren’t even stainless like advertised.(magnet doesn’t stck to stainless) Well that’s when i realized, i was scammed!! These people buy knock offs by the bundle, for 2.33 a piece and make a few bucks that add up. For whoever reads this please be careful, as i don’t want you to get scammed. This guy had a 100% feedback, and noone complained because they probaly had never owned one before to notice any difference in them. If you buy one that is dull, and a magnet sticks to the blade, it is a fake knock off. Be careful!!!!!
