This sounds so yummy, I wonder if it would be good in the cream cheese and fluff dip?!? I may have to try it with some chocolate cookies to dip in.

We make peppermint whipped cream and put bite-size pieces of angel food cake with it. You can dip into the dish (like chips and dip), or cut a slice and put a dollop of the cream on top. Garnish with a small candy cane or peppermint disk. It's also a "hit" at Christmas parties.

Oooh, can't wait for the weather to get cold so I can make this for my hot-chocolate-loving-kids and their friends! Another thing we do with crushed peppermints is make White Chocolate Bark. Melt a bag or two of white chocoate chips in the microwave, then spread melted chocolate onto a clean cookie sheet, spreading quickly before it cools to about 1/4" thickness. IMMEDIATELY sprinkle the crushed peppermint on top. (We've discovered that the bark is prettier if the peppermint pieces are not uniform in size, so leave some larger and some smaller when you crush the candy. Also, use candy canes rather than the round peppermints because there is more red on the candy canes thus giving the bark a more colorful look.) When the chocolate is completely cool, loosen the bark from the cookie sheet and break it into pieces. Store in a tupperware or cookie tin. This stuff disappears fast at our house. Makes a great gift too! My kids love making it, especially if I let them crush the candy in a large zip-top bag using a wooden rolling pin!

Elizabeth - I love the meringue idea. I may have to email you for more details, because those seem easy and delish!

C Holt - It is already on the docket for the evening. I really can't have any holiday party without it. Yeah!

Yummy! Let's do this on Christmas Eve's at Grandma Holt's!!! Sound like a plan? We can figure it out the closer we get. Hot chocolate w/peppermint whipped cream around Grandpa's roaring fireplace, snow outside, singing Grandma Passey's traditional Christmas song book songs.
