Popsicle Stick Scarecrow

Hi my crafty friends!!! There is NO need to be scared of today’s kid friendly crafty post! This Popsicle Stick Scarecrow is as simple as it gets and it’s perfect for the upcoming fall season too!!!

Not only is this fall themed craft really fun and perfect for children of ALL ages BUT if you add magnets or string to the back, you will have yourself some awesome decor as well!

Popsicle Stick Scarecrow

Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {9 per scarecrow}
  • School Glue
  • Yellow Craft Paint
  • Paper Plate
  • Paint Brush
  • Cardstock
  • Decorative Plastic Leaves
  • Scissors
  • Various Fall Themed Embellishments

Directions:

First assemble the base of your scarecrow by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across} Set aside to let it dry completely.

Once dry, go ahead and squirt some yellow paint on a paper plate. Have children paint the front of their newly made popsicle stick piece completely yellow. Set aside to let it dry completely again.

Now grab your cardstock and scissors. Go ahead and cut out some scarecrow features from it. Think eyes, nose and of course, a fun hat to give him an iconic scarecrow look!

To finish off the Popsicle Stick Scarecrow craft, have children glue on their cardstock pieces, along with the decorative leaf hair and collar, in their designated spots on the popsicle stick design. Then allow children to add other embellishments they see fit before displaying proudly!!!
