The recipe comes from baking wizard, Dorie Greenspan.  If you aren’t familiar with her and you like to bake, do a quick [...]

Brown Sugar Cake with Fresh Peaches

by Lindsay on September 9, 2009

Peaches are my very favorite summer fruit.  (Nectarines come in second.)  I have been buying (and eating) peaches by the dozen.  We simply cannot get enough of our beloved local peaches.
Most of the time we eat them out-of-hand with the juice dripping to our elbows.  A few have made their way into frozen desserts and [...]

One of My Favorite Desserts, Banoffee Pie

by Lindsay on August 5, 2009

In 1972, Ian Dowding and Nigel Mackenzie of The Hungry Monk Restaurant in East Sussex, England, created one of my favorite desserts–Banoffee Pie.  (You can find their original recipe here on their website.)

Most recipes from the UK use Digestive Biscuits or even better–Hobnobs, neither of which I have on hand.  Instead, I opt for using [...]

Chocolate Pudding Pie

by Marie on August 13, 2008

I needed a dessert for a party and wanted something with chocolate. After searching my cupboards, I came up with a few supplies I knew I could throw together. I found chocolate pudding, but added whipped cream I had in the fridge to make it fluffier. Then scooped this all on a graham cracker crust, [...]
