I’ve loved this post from Quince and Quire on Leaf Drawing. Even though I don’t have her artistic touch, I decided I had to make some myself anyway, taking a Thanksgiving spin on it. I wrote the names of people who will be at our dinner table, making each leaf a place setting.

You’ll first want to collect, press, and sort your leaves. Then find a fancy pen (I love the silver ink), or you could even paint on your leaves like Geninnie’s Art, where Quince and Quire was inspired. Have fun being creative this Fall!

Cute idea! I love a silver sharpie!
Thank you! This is so easy even I can do it! My grandbabies will think it is great to have their names on a leaf!
I even have two silver Sharpies here! And, PLENTY of leaves. Can’t wait to do this with the kids.
I might write conversation starters on my leaves: “I’m Thankful for…”
“Best day of 2009″ “Yummiest meal” “I learned from this”
This is a great idea, I think I’ll send the girls out to hunt for leaves this morning! And expand on the idea by having them create a placemat for each of them, which I will laminate :)
Thank you for sharing!
Yay! Keep the ideas coming.
Lynn – I love your idea to write what you’re thankful for on these!
Michelle – And perfect idea to make a placemat out of these leaves when you’re done!
I love the idea of writing with a silver pen on little miniature pumpkins and putting one on each plate.
I like your adaptation. I loved the ones at Quince and Quire for their elegance, but I’m not creative enough. I like the leaf place card idea – they are just perfect.
Ohhh, I love the placemat idea! I’ll have to do that, too.
This is such a cute idea! Gotta try it this Thanksgiving. Thanks!!!
