Toy Bowling

by Marie on May 26, 2008

Our Happy Meal prizes and Dollar Store figurines are coming in handy with Toy Bowling. My son has been wanting to go bowling and started to learn some of the lingo, like “strike” and I need a “spare”. So I thought it would be fun to practice a little at home.

With our bucket of toys, we found the perfect “pins” to use. The larger toys are better at standing. Then we counted them out and placed them in the bowling triangle, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Then we bowled. The kids had fun crashing down their toys and even setting them back up. Ursala didn’t work that great as she was too low to the ground, but the Ninja Turtle and Shrek toys toppled over perfectly.

So instead of throwing your Happy Meal toys away, bowl them over instead.

I love this idea, Marie! I was just telling my husband the other day that we needed to look for a bowling set for the kids. We have a hallway that is perfect for bowling. Now I don’t need to buy one! Thanks for another great idea!

Awesome idea! I call it a great way to recycle. Those little toys drive me so insane I just secretly throw one away every once in a while and hope my girls don’t notice. ;)

Btw, I made the wet water sponges yesterday and posted pics on my blog. Thank you so much for the idea.

That is such a great idea!
Are you doing the craft past of the Arts Festival in Riverton? I noticed they were calling the crafts, make and takes so I wasn’t sure but it sounded like this site!

That is a good idea! Thanks for sharing.

One thing I love using my happy meal toys for is the bathtub. Every so often I just recylcle them through. They make great tub toys!

Great idea! I get so annoyed by those little toys that even I would probably have fun bowling them over! You are so creative!!

Fiona looks like she is ready to kick that bowling ball right back to you guys! Very creative use of bothersome toys we all have way too many of. Bravo!
