4 Crafty Projects to Celebrate The Lorax

The Lorax is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books! Not only is it a great story, it helps teach such a wonderful message on how to take care of our earth. To help celebrate the book, we’re sharing 4 crafty projects all about The Lorax!

4 Crafty Projects to Celebrate The Lorax

We love to celebrate our storytime reading with fun crafts and activities to further our learning and exploration of our books. With Dr. Seuss’s birthday coming up on March 2nd, I’m highlighting 4 activities to craft for one of my favorite books, The Lorax.

4 Crafty Projects to Celebrate The Lorax

1. Truffula Tree Pom Poms: Create this framed craft with sparkly pom poms and baker’s twine. The twine makes for the perfect stripes in those Truffula trees! You can use a new frame or find an old frame you have lying around the house and give it a fresh new look. Use tacky glue or glue dots to attach your twine and pom-poms to the paper and place it in the frame. It’s ready for a fun Truffula Tree display!

2. Lorax Felt Hand Puppet: This no-sew hand puppet is the perfect craft to make it come to life. Cut out the shape of the Lorax and add some glue to your felt puppet. Add a couple of eyes, don’t forget his eyebrows and a yarn mustache as well. Let the glue dry and now he’s ready to “speak for the trees”!

3. Bar-Ba-Loot Snacktime: Enjoy a festive snack with chocolate graham bears and some marshmallows to represent the Bar-Ba-Loot from the story. You could even add in some cheesey fish crackers as well!

4. Mini Lorax Yarn Pom: Wrap up some yarn with pipe cleaners to craft up this mini toy. Glue on some googly eyes and a pipe cleaner for his eye brows and mustache. Your kids will have fun playing with him as he keeps our trees safe!
