  1. A couple of my favorite Thanksgiving books that I love to share with my students are A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting is about a turkey who mistakenly thinks he is on the menu. A great factual over view is Thanksgiving Day by Gail Gibbons. But my favorite is Thank You Sarah Josepha Hale! The Woman Who Saved Thanksgiving by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is a wonderful way to teach about perseverance and overcoming others opinions and strong women.
