Homemade Toffee Recipe
1 cup salted butter
chocolate chips: milk or dark
pecan, walnuts, etc
Line up a 9-inch square baking dish with baking paper.
In a large saucepan, add butter and sugar and bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar.
Once the mixture starts boiling, reduce heat to medium low and allow to boil till the color changes from yellow to rich caramel and the sand thermometer gets around 285-290F.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla essence.
Pour toffee mixture onto the prepared pan and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and allow them to melt. Spread the chelate into an even layer and sprinkle with coarsely chopped nuts.
Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours.
Break into pieces and serve.
