Pizza Crust Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 2 &1/2 cups all purpose flour flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Start by proofing the yeast - add warm water, sugar and dry yeast to a small bowl and mix to combine.
  2. Allow mixture to sit for almost 5 minutes until it becomes bubbly.
  3. Meanwhile add flour and salt to a large mixing bowl and make a well in the middle.
  4. Once the yeast mixture is bubbly pour it to the large mixing bowl in the well area, add olive oil and mix to combine until a sticky ball starts to form.
  5. Transfer sticky dough to a floured surface and knead for a couple of minutes into a smooth dough, adding some extra flour if the dough it's still too sticky.
  6. Place the dough ball back in the large bowl and allow to sit and rise for 10 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400F/ 200C and prepare a pan.
  8. Roll pizza dough into desired shape and carefully transfer it to your prepared pan. Add pizza sauce and toppings of your choice and bake on the middle rack for around 15-20 minutes
