Crispy Fried Ravioli with Marinara Sauce

Golden and crispy fried ravioli is one of my all time fall favorite appetizer! If you are throwing a party, have a family gathering or just everyday after school snack time, these crispy bites are the most delicious, easiest recipe you can make in just 10 minutes. Everyone will love them that much, you’ll find yourself making a bigger batch next time :)

Really easy to make and with only a couple of ingredients: your favorite ravioli (just remember to thaw them if frozen before making the recipe) panko breadcrumbs, some herbs, grated parmesan and eggs. In less than 15 minutes these fried ravioli are ready to be served. I love to add some marinara sauce on side, especially now with the abundance of fresh, juicy tomatoes you can find at the markets.

I absolutely love fried food! Anything tastes so much better when it’s fried, right?!

I guess some of you may find a bit strange to fry pasta and I felt the same before trying this recipe for the first time. My Goodness, after the first bite I was convinced that there is nothing better than fried pasta! The balance between the crispy pasta and the juicy, moist filling is perfect!

Crispy Fried Ravioli with Marinara Sauce Recipe

  • 1 pack refrigerated ravioli
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Italian dried herbs
  • Olive oil for frying
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce

Method:

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, dried herbs and Parmesan cheese. Add some salt and pepper and set aside. Add some Panko breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl and dip each ravioli first in the eggs mixture and then in breadcrumbs. Place each coated ravioli on a wire rack. Repeat the procedure until all ravioli are coated in both mixtures.

In a large pan, add olive oil and heat it over medium high heat. When hot, fry ravioli for about 2 minutes on each side, until golden and puffed up. Remove from the pan on a paper towel covered plate to remove any oil excess before serving.

Serve warm with Marinara sauce on side.
