Eating, reading, and running are a few of my favorite hobbies. I’ve found some fabulous websites I love to visit for all three of these hobbies that help me love them even more.
- Eating: I’ve shared this before, but Tastespotting is the coolest website for food. It’s a collection of great recipes to be had around the web. I love to visit Tastespotting and drool over all the great pictures. Then just click on one of the pictures and you go to the blog or website for the recipe. Yum.

- Reading: Goodreads is a great site for someone who reads. It helps you organize what you’ve read and what you want to read. You do have to sign up and become a member, but it’s easy and worth it. I also love to find others with my same tastes and see what else they’re reading. It gives me some great ideas. I’m always on the lookout for new books.

- Running: When I go out for a jog, I’m want to know how far I went. I used to track my distance by getting in my car, resetting the odometer and driving my run. But I’ve now been introduced to the fabulously helpful website, Map My Run. This makes it sooooo much easier to track my distance. I can also plan out new routes before I go on a run. So convenient.

My hubby just completed his 2nd 1/2 marathon. While he was training for this latest one he used Map My Run and really loved it!

I love the USATF run mileage calculator because you can look at the satellite view for when you run on trails, in parking lots, etc… http://www.usatf.org/routes/map/
And I love Tastespotting. What did moms do before there were so many great recipes online?
Oooh, I had never heard of Tastespotting! I just checked the site out and it’ awesome! Thanks for sharing:”)
Can I be your friend on Goodreads? I’m a member there as Hashi (hashimeltzer at yahoo dot com)
thanks for the tastespotting website. i had never heard of it and checked it out it looks great. i too also enjoy goodreads and map my run. they are great websites.
I love these 3 things too! I’ve now added tastespotting to my favs. The pictures are fantastic!
If I can make my own shout out to good reads, I highly recommend it. Life is too short to read a bad book, I only read books now that have been recommended by my friends and family.
Map my run is awesome – I’ve been using http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ but it’s just to calculate my route but nothing else.
Thanks SO much for sharing!
I wish you NEVER told me about tastespotting. I can’t keep my eyes off it. I love food photography.
Also, I run with a GPS and love it! I always know my pace and distance, and it keeps me going when I slow down.
Hey, thanks for sharing those websites! I love reading and eating, hate cooking though :). I wish I had time for a hobby (well other than blogging and reading other people’s blogs). Before I had my son I was a rock climber and I miss that so much now. Ah, I wish you never asked about hobbies ….
You got me with your post title – I love all three things. I especially love eating and reading at the same time – now if I could work running in there too (not going to happen, I think) maybe it will total bliss? Thanks for the great sites, more lovely things to check out.
Thanks for these great links! I enjoy all 3 of these hobbies too, I can’t wait to check out these new sites.
I’ m going to recommend my favorite site to you is http://www.foodgawker.com is pretty similar to tastespotting. com. To the both two thumbs up ;)
