Our Loch Ness Zucchini Monster

by Marie on August 27, 2010

This was our zucchini from last year. It grew so much so fast that they were GIANT by the time I went out to get more. My husband decided to get creative with these over-sized zucchinis and created Nessie!

It comes complete with green tomato eyes and zucchini flower horns. I love it!

This year we wised up with our garden and have been letting my in-laws grow the zucchini for us! They’ve got plenty. Any Loch Ness Zucchini Monsters in your garden?

This is so fun! And exactly why I don’t grow zucchini in my garden. I just wouldn’t know how to consume all that squash! :)

Adorable! It seems to be the summer of zucchini. My friend also has extremely large zucchini this year! My garden did not fair so well. We had stem rot troubles on our tomatoes and our corn & cucumbers just could not stand the extreme heat. Our peppers are doing great, though, as is our leek!

None of my zucchini made it this year. Our spring was too cold and by the time it warmed up it was full on summer with 100 deg temps. A lot of plants had a hard time and I’ve been very sad not to have had zucchini. :( Everyone here has had bug problems too. They got all of my butternut squash.

Katie – My neighbors garden isn’t doing that hot either. And I’m struggling with my tomatoes. Maybe it’s something in the air this summer!
